DOUGLAS: "LET'S STAY POSITIVE!"

LEICESTER title-winner Ryan Douglas is urging everyone to stay positive despite the current testing times.

The 26-year-old flew back home to Australia last month just before travel restrictions were put in place due to the Coronavirus crisis.

He's currently working for the Australian Road Services - but is itching to get back to the UK to get racing.

And after agreeing a doubling-up role once again, which will also see him back with Wolverhampton in the top flight, Douglas is targeting another encouraging campaign.

Said Douglas: "I’m really up for the season and riding in two leagues again will be huge for my career.

"It made me a better rider last season spending more time on the bike.

"I had no hesitation signing for Wolverhampton again; like Leicester they are a well run club with ambitions to win something every season."

In this week's Speedway Star he added: "Everyone would love to be racing now - but right now it’s just not possible.

“It’s important to stay in touch with the teams and check everyone is in a positive mindset.

“I can’t imagine how frustrating it is for some of the boys and people in the UK.

“It’s for the safety of yourself and the people around you though and you just have to do your best and hopefully good news will come soon."

You can read more from Douglas in Issue 2 of the club's unique season delay programme.

It also features an interview with Dan Thompson, the latest views of boss Stewart Dickson and a look back in time with Alan Jones.

All this and much more is available for £2.25 plus P&P and can be ordered via curtis-sport.com.
